Building friendships and brightening futures has been the theme for the year of the Rotaract Club of Colombo Mid Town which has lived by for the past 3 decades. Nothing showed this better than at the Installation Ceremony of the 39th President: Rtr. Insaf Ismail on the 24th of July held at the Olympic House Auditorium, Colombo.

More than half of the 65 Rotaract clubs all over Sri Lanka were present: a testament to the solid friendships that have grown over the years. Among those who were also present were Interactors, Rotaractors, Past Presidents, Past DRR’s and Rotarians.

Taking over the role of President for the new year by ambitious and driven Rtr. Insaf Ismail, who is an HR specialist at NOLIMIT. Holding a degree in Business and Management from Cardiff Metropolitan University and a MBA from the Australian Institute of Business. He has been in the movement for many years and was also an Interactor from Amal International School.

“The plans are simple but the standards are high” he said when asked about how he plans to move the club forward for the months ahead.

The secretary for the incoming year is just as impressive. Only 20 years of age, and completing her degree in Economics at the Royal Institute of Colombo, Dina Ali who had already founded her own online story Glam by Dee. She has a clear vision on how she wants the year to unfold she says “We need to listen to the needs of the needy and improve ourselves along the way”.

The board of directors for the year include 14 unique and driven individuals coming from different industries: software engineering to entrepreneurs, students to established professionals – all with the collective desire to serve and inspire the future.
