The installation ceremony of the 25th President Rtr. Samila Imbulana and the Board of Directors of the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa was held on 12th of August 2020 at Summerfields and the ceremony was broadcasted live on YouTube.
The dignitaries of the evening were invited for the lighting of the oil lamp and afterwards took their seats at the head table. The Sergeant at Arms, Rtr. Randula Karunarathna called the house to order followed by the national anthem, flag salutation, Rotaract invocation, the four-way test and the Rotaract song of RID 3220.
Starting off the proceedings, the chairperson of the installation ceremony, Rtr. Romasha Guruge took the stage to welcome the gathering. Afterward, the outgoing Joint Secretary, Rtr. Nishika Yapa presented the Secretary’s report for the year 2019-2020. She emphasized on the new initiatives during the year which were manusath handa, first audiobooks library and link rotract, membership tracking application and the many victories at 30th Rotaract Assembly. The club has completed 65 total projects out of which Club Service – 16, Community Service – 23, Environment Service – 4, International Service – 5, Professional Development – 10, Peach & Harmony – 3, Public Relations – 1 and Others – 3. She thanked everyone who supported them during the year followed by a mini video presentation of the year 2019-2020 of the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa.
Rtr. Charith Rajitha took the stage to introduce the outgoing President Rtr. Dhanuka Perera, he addressed the gathering for one last time as the 24th President of the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa. He was delighted that, as a club, they have been able to achieve the vision they created for the year Explore, Develop and Serve. He did not forget to appreciate the support given by everyone and he wished the incoming officials do their best before signing off. The tokens of appreciation were given by Rtr. IPP Dhanuka Perera to outgoing officials and in return they offered a token of appreciation to Rtr. IPP Dhanuka Perera and Rtr. Nishika Silva.
Next on the agenda was the most awaited segment of the event as it was time to introduce the new leader of the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa. This individual was introduced to the gathering by Rtr. Dulinda Perera followed by the collaring, handing over the gavel and charter certificate by the outgoing President Rtr. IPP Dhanuka Perera.
The newly inducted President Rtr. Samila Imbulana took the stage for his first address as the President. During his speech, he touched upon the commitment and passion of members of Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa. Afterwards a mini video was played on the year plan of Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa. He asked everyone to write their own story in Rotaract while moving along the journey and concluded his speech by introducing his Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the year 2020-21:

Up next, the gathering was addressed by the District Rotaract Representative PP Kasun Sigera followed by an incredible performance by Rtr. Wenusara Windana from the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa. Afterwards, the gathering was addressed by District Rotaract Chair Rtn. PP Amjad Yousuf. The Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa graciously launched the new club website and the blogging platform. Next, the Guest of Honor Rtn. PHF Rohantha Athukorala addressed gathering and a best wishes speech was delivered on behalf of Rtn. PHF Brain Selvanayagam. Then, President Rtr. Samila Imbulana offered tokens of appreciation to the dignitaries.
The newly appointed Secretary Rtr. Leesha Samadi delivered the vote of thanks for the evening and the stage was open for felicitations. President Rtr.
