Prologue

So what do you know about Rotaract? hmm… well here’s one thing that’s common with all new Rotaractors, none of them know what Rotaract is all about.

This is where the Rotaract Clubs of ACBT and Mid Town saw opportunity, why don’t we train all of them and give them a one of a kind experience on what Rotaract is, well that’s what we did last year, this however is the story of how we did it a second time

Planning

Well Mid Town had a new set of recruits and a new set youngsters, so for the first ever meeting we brought them along, so that they can not only learn from the project but also help plan the project, from ACBT we got Masatoe and Shahid, let me get ahead of myself and say they are the best kind of Rotaractors, Rotaract currently has. Dedicated and Loyal.

From our end we had Ravindu heading the project who was clear cut dedicated rotaractor molded from the same institution that Nuzzy came from, SLIIT. He had a quite and calm demeanor.

Our initial plan was not to make certain repetitions from last year, specifically the morbid seminar style explanation of Rotaract, which honestly does not work. when was the last time you spend time at lecturer, no really when?, never! you run out during the break and never come back.

So the set plan was to make the project with a lot practical engaging components that would motivate Rotaractors to understand what it’s all about from a pragmatic point of view; for this we must come of with engaging plans similar to what we learn from RYLA.

Condition

One of the most important conditions that was set by Afraa, Deadline is 31, simple as that any postponement and it’s canceled, well that kinda harsh, but trust me it’s good to have hardliners like that from time to time.

Standard Meeting Place

Well what better place than the All Rotaract Meeting Place, Coffee and Company where many clubs come to meet up, chill out and well chill!

We will meet up here regularly to plan about the future of 101, and some of the videos and boomerangs where filmed here

Promotion Queens

We’ve got a very active PR director who came to our rescue she came up with different plans such as boomerangs with the help of Vinavie, she also designed the remaining material for Rotaract 101 from certificates to posters. bit of a nasty habit of not answering calls, but apart from that she is blessing.

Changes to Script

Well we all plan to do things the way we want, but end up doing things differently what started as a all engaging project with hands on experience, became a seminar once again perhaps the most disappointing part of the this project, we tried our best but we still got speakers. Arshad Akabar the best amongst bunch.

The final speaker had a nice poster made in the days before the event
