Rotaract is all about creating friendships and eventually becoming part of a bigger family. That is exactly the objective of the recently held Gaming night or as it was dubbed as CS in your PJs. The Gaming night was held on the 27th of July 2019 at Maze Gaming in Nugegoda. The event started at 8 pm and went on till 6 in the morning, which included 22 members of the club joining the proceedings. The Gaming night was packed with activities such as playing Counter Strike, Call of Duty, Fifa 19, Mortal Kombat, Uno, Hora Deal and even Omi.

The gathering of the like-minded kicked off with the members playing a round of UNO. However, this round of UNO became so intense,it replaced Monopoly as the game to ruin friendships. Rtr. Dina Ali and Rtr. Sajid Ali kept going at each other to prove to each other which Ali was the best. Eventually the rest of the club members intervened because at the end of the day we love both Ali’s.

Next up was the actual gaming session which the members split between the PS4 and the PC. On the PS4 Rtr. Farhan was adamant to prove that Chelsea was the better football club as he took on all that came to challenge him (although I believe that he did lose a couple of games). Moving onto the PC section of the venue Rtr. Sajid Ali was at it again to make sure someone was annoyed at him. The self-proclaimed gaming master Rtr. Chirag Amit was surely losing his wits as Sajid and Hamza made sure he did not have a good day with the mouse and keyboard while playing Call of Duty.

As the gaming and card sessions kept rolling, a few members stomachs were rumbling with hunger and like 2 knights in shining armor (by armor i meant branded tshirts) Rtr. Hamza and Rtr. Ammar had gotten on their horses (i mean scooty peps) and rode into the night to bring back….. FOOD! Holding in their muscular arms were plastic shopping bags filled with none other than….. BIRIYANI!!!! It was a feast made for kings (and by this i mean young boys and girls who had the munchies). Disaster struck early though when everyone noticed that we didn’t have plates but where there is will, there is a way. RAC of Mid Town produced the biggest Sawan in club history as a plastic Damro table was used as the plate with lunch sheets covering the top. Indeed what a feast it was and ever will be.

With all great things there must be an end as the sun was starting to roll up and tired yawns and eyes were very visible. Everyone started to bid adieu and slowly walked off the venue with happy (but tired) faces, memories to cherish and many a joke to tell at the next meet up. It is with these kind of moments that make your Rotaract friends into Family and with zero regrets and a smile on my face I end this article, so until next time…. BOOM BABY LET’S GO!
