Rota ready

Rota Ready, organized by the Rotaract Club of Colombo Mid Town, was an orientation and leadership readiness program designed to engage not only incoming board members, but also prospective members and Rotaractors looking to deepen their understanding of the movement. Held on July 27, 2025, the event aimed to instill a strong foundation of leadership, service, and club awareness, while also setting the tone for an impactful Rotaract year ahead.

The session commenced at 5:00 PM with a warm welcome and interactive icebreaker by Rtr Nuzki, setting an energetic and inclusive tone for the evening. This was followed by an address from Club President Rtr Shazeena, who shared her vision for the year and emphasized the importance of collective effort in building a strong club culture.

The highlight of the event was a series of three powerful keynote speeches:

Rtr Dulan led the first session titled “Learn and Level Up – Opportunities in Rotaract”, where he explored the various growth avenues available to members, from local club activities to international exposure.
DRRE Rtr Jude delivered the second keynote, “Leadership Through Service – How Every Member Has the Potential to Lead”, focusing on how leadership in Rotaract is accessible to all, regardless of experience level, as long as there’s passion and commitment.

The final keynote, “How Rotaract Changed My Life”, was presented by Past President Nipun Alwis, who shared a moving personal journey highlighting the transformative power of Rotaract on both personal and professional levels.

To foster engagement and ensure clarity, an Open Q&A session was conducted by Rtr Nuzki, where participants raised queries—especially related to attendance, participation, and role clarity—which were addressed in a friendly and open manner. There were pools of questions and doubts on how to be a better leader as well as how the audience could contribute to their avenues to their best and how to get the best out of rotaract and all the Q&A was cleared with utmost clarity from our respected speakers whom each gave their own insights on how to tackle the various issues, giving the audience a great lesson and making their time feel more valuable.

Following the Q&A, the energy shifted into a fun and competitive space with “Kahoot Time” led by Rtr Ahamed, testing members’ general knowledge about Rotaract in a lively quiz format. A group photo session captured the spirit of camaraderie, before the evening concluded with closing remarks by Rtr Nuzki.
