The Fourth Industrial Revolution is now unfolding before us, giving us a glimpse of what the digital, scientific, and economic worlds will look like in the near future. There is a rise of new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), robotics, and the like, which are reshaping many aspects of human life—positively and negatively.
More specifically, the Fourth Industrial Revolution means organizational platforms and business models will continue to evolve in mind-blowing proportions such that major areas of HR – talent assessment, recruitment, and employee training and engagement – will also have to be revisited. This further means that you’ll need to find a new breed of talent whose skills stack up against the changing technological landscape well enough to preserve the superiority of the human species in the workplace.
Skills 2020 was a joint HRD initiative which was organized after a joint meeting with the Rotaract Clubs of Colombo and Colombo Mid Town on the 21st of May 2019 at CoCo Space,, the workshop was regards to the skills required by employees in the corporate world in 2020. The session was conducted by Mr. Inthikab Zufer will who demonstrated that these top 10 competencies will be vital in years to come;

The sole objective of this initiative was to educate and enhance the skills that our members will need to focus on years to come. The session by the keynote speaker was an eye opener as it was very insightful and even gave us a glimpse on the replacement of the human workforce by the Robots. As the biggest youth movement of Sri Lanka I think the changes that we make will greatly impact the workforce of Sri Lanka. We consider this as a small step forward.
