A crisis or a lifestyle?
A simmering dawn, yet to rise. Sunshine and clouds yet to find, find water that can flow, kind slaughter that can glow.
The pearl of the Indian Ocean on its knees, bleeding for the sins it did not commit An opportunity as a nation, but a compromise for the rich.
Embedded with unity among the orange and green, forced to leave and weep
A starving season lasted for 3 years, but how long till we rid our fears?
United as a nation you seem to pride, minutes later dealt with theft and bribe,
A strong nation should plead to life, instead we wait in ques to die.
With sorrow and grief we’re left to mourn in lines that lead to scorn
A desperate measure it takes to fight, but don’t worry the neon signs are in sight.
Our supposed leader, the symbol of our nation is fighting for us,
He says “I have taken stern steps to ease the difficulties currently faced by the people” In pledge he stood before the nation as he would save it from drowning,
Today he stands at a height watching it sway away in the Indian Ocean.
A loud scream inside our hearts, #GohomeGota,
But a minority, we stay quiet.
Some of us fight and learn not to fight, and some of us just lay still at night, with so much fear in our hearts, we forget how it is in light.
In delighted shine, we hope for a better morning,
everyone waits to deliver a brighter restoring
restoring the nation, of inhumanity, of selfishness, and of greed.
You can hear us say it? we will say it louder, reset Sri Lanka of your members and go home in large numbers.
